Addressing systemic issues

Inventory of quick-disbursing international instruments

The Addis Ababa Action Agenda urged Member States of the United Nations, international institutions, and all relevant stakeholders to work to prevent and reduce the risk and impact of financial crises, as well as to better prevent and manage risks from disasters. Member States committed to promoting innovative financing mechanisms to allow countries to better prevent and manage risks and develop mitigation plans.

Strengthening global governance

The Addis Ababa Action Agenda calls for reforms to the international architecture, including to ensure that international mechanisms and institutions keep pace with the increased complexity of the world and respond to the imperatives of sustainable development. The Addis Agenda builds on the Monterrey Consensus in calling for the implementation of governance reforms to ensure a more inclusive and representative international architecture.
